This is a post I should have done weeks, maybe even months, ago. These people are so amazing and they mean so much to me in my life, God has blessed me so much with their friendship. Together we are the band 'Jasper and Carnelian.' We performed for the first time in a school competition, playing Souvenirs (Switchfoot) and Faint Not (Jenny and Tyler). But it really started WAY before that, when we first decided to do it and had endless amounts of rehearsing and jamming together.

Why? Well we love music. What's the point? And what does the name mean?? These are the questions we asked ourselves. Well, maybe not the last one, that was one fired at us countless times (especially when the judge got it wrong and called us 'Jasper and the Camelian.'...yeah that was a definite high point as a band) But seriously, we were having our bible study and came upon Revelation 4:3 - 'And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.'  They're the colours that encircle Gods throne. As Christians we're told to be Christ-like (Ephesians 5v1-2) and so what better name than one which would show how we want to reflect Gods colours on earth: be his 'God flavours' so to speak.

We want to honour and glorify Him through our music, spreading His love wherever we go.

And now we've left school we're still planning to keep going. We've decided to play in as many pubs and cafes as possible starting (potentially) with the 'Fat Fowl' in BradfordonAvon. And maybe even busk at some point. We've got some songs lined up (Jason Mraz - I won't give up/Newton Faulkner - Dream Catch me etc) but would welcome other ideas...? If you've got this far then thanks for reading this speel, it's really a tribute to something in my life that I feel VERY excited about :)

Anything exciting in your life that you want to share? Please do!
